In recent years, there have been more and more private cars in my hometown, and the exhaust emissions from cars have polluted the air. Environmental pollution is an issue that we cant afford to overlook. It has brought about numerous negative impacts on our environment and human beings.
Take noise pollution for example. With the development of cities, there are more and more construction sites, factories and traffic. The continuous noise from these sources not only disturbs peoples normal life and rest but also may cause hearing problems in the long term.
Another serious form of pollution is light pollution. The excessive use of bright lights in cities, especially at night, affects the living habits of many animals. For instance, some birds may lose their sense of direction because of the bright lights, which can disrupt the ecological balance.
Plastic pollution is also widespread. Plastic products are hard to decompose and they are everywhere, from the streets to the oceans. They pose a great threat to marine life as many sea animals mistake plastic for food and die after swallowing it.
We should realize that protecting the environment is everyones responsibility. We need to start from small things in our daily lives to make a difference and jointly create a clean and beautiful living environment.

Chemical pollution is a significant aspect. Many factories produce a variety of chemical waste during the manufacturing process. If these wastes are not properly disposed of, they will seep into the soil and groundwater, contaminating them seriously. This in turn affects the quality of agricultural products and drinking water, endangering peoples health.
Radioactive pollution is another dangerous form. Although it may not be as common as other types of pollution, accidents in nuclear power plants or improper handling of radioactive materials can have extremely serious consequences. The radiation released can cause mutations in living organisms and even lead to cancer in humans.
We must raise awareness of environmental protection among the public. The government should strengthen environmental supervision and formulate stricter laws and regulations to punish those who damage the environment. Each of us should actively participate in environmental protection activities, such as planting trees, reducing the use of disposable products and advocating green travel. Only in this way can we gradually reduce environmental pollution and build a more livable earth.
