Li Ning is from Liuzhou. He was born on September 8, 1963. He began to practice gymnastics at the age of 8. He entered the Guangxi gymnastics team at the age of 10 and was selected into the national gymnastics team at the age of 17. He won six Gymnastics Championships in the world cup in 1982 and won three gold medals in the Los Angeles Olympic Games in 1984. In 1983, 1985, 1986 and 1987, he won the national top ten Championships successively, was rated as the "best athlete of the century" in 1999, and was included in the "International Gymnastics Hall of fame" in 2000, becoming the first World Gymnastics celebrity among Chinese athletes. Li Ning has won a total of 14 World Championships, and no one has broken this brilliant achievement so far.
