由于人類不加節制地砍伐森林，大量排放污水、廢氣，使得全球環境迅速惡化。原來蔚藍的天空變得灰暗了，清澈的河水變得渾濁了，熱鬧的森林也變得冷清了。大量排放二氧化碳這種溫室氣體，又使全球出現了溫室效應，導致全球氣溫變暖，海平面上升，又給一些國家帶來了嚴重的災難。
雖然環境還在繼續惡化，但世界各國都在積極地應對著。這說明，人類已經開始覺悟了，我們人類終于認識到了保護環境的重要性�，F在，國際上于1972年6月5日至16日在瑞典斯德哥爾摩舉行聯合國人類環境會議以及世界地球日、世界海洋日、世界環境日也都給地球帶來一些寬慰。畢竟，人類“懂事”了。
當然，對環境的保護，離不開我們每個人的共同努力。平時少開空調，上班、上學選擇騎車或步行，減少對一次性筷子及一次性購物袋的使用，提醒他人保護環境等，都是對環保事業的支持，對大自然的熱愛。
